Logistics Logistics provides operational support and supplies to the entire Fire Department and is managed by a Deputy Chief. This section oversees the management of the Department’s Fleet and Resource sections, and is able to track and maintain accountability of its resources, supplies, and equipment. Our goal is to support the Department and its mission towards serving the citizens, visitors, and stakeholders of Arlington, Texas. Jon Padilla Deputy Chief The Department’s Fleet consists of a combination of apparatus that range from traditional fire engines, aerial trucks, and command vehicles to more specialized vehicles that support technical rescue, swift water, hazardous materials, gas wells, EOD, and Special Events. The average age of the Fire Kendall Kramer Department apparatus fleet Apparatus Specialist is eight years and is valued at over $17 million. The Department’s Apparatus Specialist coordinates the daily maintenance activities for all frontline, reserve, and support vehicles. The Fire Resource Section is tasked with purchasing, procuring, maintaining, and delivering the supplies and tools needed to operate and sustain the 17 fire stations, 17 Engine companies, five Ladder companies, and many other specialized vehicles and apparatus. The Fire Resource Supervisor and three assistants manage assets and inventory that range from personal protective equipment, emergency medical supplies, and rescue Dana Shanks Resource Management tools to grant funded items and station supplies and appliances.
