ISO Rating of 2 The Insurance Services Office (ISO) rates the ability of a city to provide protection from the hazard of fire utilizing a Public Protection Classification System. It is this system’s set of standards that scores a community's water supply and distribution, equipment, fire alarm process and fire prevention efforts. Arlington is in the top 2% of cities in the U.S. with a “2” rating or better. This excellent rating may save citizens approximately $55 - $147 yearly, based on an average Arlington home value of $135,000 and an approximate yearly insurance policy cost of $750 to $2,000, with an average policy reduction of 7.36 percent. Increased efforts through inspections to prevent avoidable hazards. The Fire Prevention Section works diligently on the fire inspection process. These efforts, which help prevent injuries or death, include performing critical examinations of businesses in order to identify and resolve potential hazards and safety issues for the community. They play a critical role in fire prevention by inspecting sprinkler and fire detection systems.
