assigned to fire stations.
Basic Training of High School Students
Enrolled in AISD Fire Academy
This program partners the City of Arlington, the
Arlington Independent School District and Tarrant
County College to provide a positive career path for
Arlington youths. We currently have 41 students
participating in this Fire Academy. We are preparing
to start our third group of students to enter this unique
technical program.
Along with training classes, our facility is used in countless ways to connect with the citizens of
Arlington. In 2012, we assisted by partnering with other organizations, including the Arlington Police
Department’s Hispanic Police Academy, Citizen’s Emergency Response Team, multiple Town Hall
Meetings with City Council members, the U.S. Coast Guard’s Boater Safety Course, Tarrant County
Child Safety Seat education, and many others.
