Less than 2 minutes between 1st and 2nd apparatus arriving for a structure fire.
The average total response time calculates the time between the first and second unit arriving on scene for a structure
fire. In FY 2011, the average was one minute 50 seconds. The two-in/two-out standard is a safety precaution that helps
decrease the risk of injury and death for fire fighters. It ensures there are at least two firefighters outside during an interior structural fire, prepared to enter, if necessary, to rescue the firefighters inside.
