Budget Highlights The FY2024-2025 Adopted Budget includes :
� $ 10,000 for certification & training for the Legal Department to ensure up to date certifications and participation in required training ' s .
� $ 10,500 for the department ' s legal internship program which provides critical support to both Town Attorneys .
FY2023-2024 Accomplishments
� Negotiated the Walters Buffaloe Development Agreement Amendments for the White Oak / Bryan Road corridor improvements , Park at Garner Station Development Agreement , and Dominion Energy Franchise Agreement . � Represented the Town in several mediation ' s and legal claims . � Drafted legal opinions on a variety of issues including accessibility standards for multistory buildings , remote participation in council meetings , roles in land use decisions , moratorium , and downtown property issues .
� Conducted contracts and insurance training for Town staff to increase knowledge and improve efficiency in the contract routing process .
FY2024-2025 Objectives � Continue to provide the Town with efficient and timely legal services . � Assist with right-of-way and easement acquisition for 2021 bond projects . � Comprehensive review of the Town Code of Ordinances including ordinance amendments addressing noise , nuisances , and weapons on Town property . � Conduct public records retention training for Town staff .
