STREET MAINTENANCE
The Street Maintenance division within the Operations Division performs maintenance and construction on all Town-owned property as needed . Streets also support other Departments within the Town with park construction , traffic requests , community development requests , and all sanitation duties not under contract . This includes performing spring and fall cleanups each year as well as cleanup from weather-related events as assigned . Other responsibilities include maintaining 32 storm-water devices , street name sign installation and maintenance , and road repairs resulting from utility work by the City of Raleigh . Personnel in this unit also share in Powell Bill duties which are budgeted separately .
Strategic Goals � Promptly complete street repairs and patching resulting from utility work . � Continue a systematic street name sign maintenance program . � Establish a maintenance routine for non-Powell Bill-related tasks . � Maintain retention ponds and best management practices in relation to storm-water regulations . � Continue preservation of Town-owned parking lots . � Continue sidewalk maintenance program .
