FY2023-2024 Accomplishments � Adopted the 2023 Garner Forward Comprehensive Plan . � Adopted the Town of Garner Comprehensive Pedestrian Plan . � Participated in the Lower Neuse small area planning effort undertaken by Wake County . � Participated in the Southeast Area Study transportation planning effort undertaken by the Capital
Area Metropolitan Planning Organization ( CAMPO ). � Initiated extraterritorial jurisdiction ( ETJ ) expansion . � For calendar year 2023 , completed approximately 1,912 residential building permit reviews and inspections each . � Participated in ongoing transportation studies for both bus rapid transit and regional commuter rail . � Review and preliminary plan approval of 402 new single-family and 376 townhome residential lots within the previous four quarters ( April to March ). � Review and site plan approval of 1,187,160 square feet of new commercial / industrial space within the previous four quarters ( April to March ). � Promoted a Planner I to Planner II . � Successfully recruited Assistant Planning Director to fill vacancy . � Planner I achieved AICP Candidate designation . � Upgraded and improved online Development Activity Map for the general public . � Launched internal online GIS hub for staff .
