Budget Highlights The FY2024-2025 Adopted Budget includes funding of $ 80,737 for a Communications Specialist to support the Communications Department related to growth and development of the Town ' s brand , social media footprint , and engagement .
FY2023-2024 Accomplishments
� The Communications Department received the Dream-in-Action Award from the Garner MLK Celebration Committee for the department ’ s work in producing and promoting Garner ’ s annual MLK Celebration .
� Partnered with the Finance Department to again win the Government Finance Officers Association award for Popular Annual Financial Report . � Communications Media Coordinator successfully renewed license for drone operation . � Increased YouTube subscribers by over 12 % year over year to a total of over 3,220 . This far exceeds the number of subscribers for most of the Town ’ s peer communities in the Triangle . � Communications Director represented Town on the Board of Directors of N . C . Open Government
