Build UNITY

As one of the most racially and ethnically diverse cities in the nation, Arlington strives to build unity, address inequalities and ensure equitable access so that all residents might one day have the resources, skills and opportunities to make their American dreams come true. Whether we are hosting cultural celebrations throughout the year or collaborating with our nonprofit and volunteer community to provide critical programs and services, our mission is to make Arlington a place where people from all walks of life can live, work, play and learn.
ARLINGTON OPENS FIRST ABILITY-INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND
Arlington families gathered in November to celebrate the grand opening of the City’ s new ability-inclusive playground at Meadowbrook Park.
The playground, designed to accommodate children of all abilities, marks a major milestone in Arlington’ s ongoing efforts to create accessible, inclusive spaces for its residents. The site features a range of accessible play elements, including smooth, wheelchairfriendly surfaces, accessible musical instruments, a merry-go-round that accommodates wheelchairs and climbing structures designed for children with mobility challenges. Other unique features include a sensory area where children can engage with bells, rings and other tactile elements, offering sensory-rich experiences for all.
CITY PARTNERS WITH COUNTY, NONPROFIT TO CREATE AFFORDABLE CHILD CARE CENTER
The City of Arlington, Tarrant County and the nonprofit Child Care Associates partnered to create affordable, high-quality early education and care services for working families.
Child Care Associates is expected to begin construction in 2025 on the Child Care Studio at Fielder Square, which will accommodate approximately 100 infants and toddlers through age four when it opens in Arlington in fall 2026. The center will feature 10 classrooms, a cafeteria, and indoor and outdoor learning spaces. The facility, which is being constructed through federal grants allocated by the City of Arlington and Tarrant County, will be operated by Child Care Associates.
