This award covers a period of two years and recognizes excellence in the effective and efficient management of resources in a Municipal Clerk ’ s Office . Applications are evaluated on 12 standards set by TMCA , including records management , elections and government transparency .
Texas Rangers Golf Club was voted runner-up in Avid Golfer ’ s 2022 rankings of all public DFW golf courses , while also being named “ Best On-Course Service .”
Home Plate was also recognized as “ Best Bar Atmosphere .” Tierra Verde Golf Club was ranked third in the elite category , while Lake Arlington was voted “ Most Underrated Course in DFW .”
The City of Arlington was named a “ Leader in Equitable Regional Transportation ” in the 2021 Via Impact Awards , which recognizes cities and transit agencies who have delivered exceptional service to their communities by leveraging Via ’ s TransitTech .

The Arlington Tennis Center was a winner of the USTA ’ s Outstanding Facility Award in the Public / Large Tennis Center division .
In 2022 , Jay Warren , the City of Arlington ’ s director of Communication and Legislative Affairs , was reelected president of the ( TAMIO ) Board of Director . Marketing Communications Manager Kristen Waggener was elected president of the Membership Council for the national Government Social Media Organization . Additionally , both Warren and Waggener joined the Board of Directors for 3CMA .
The City of Arlington was awarded Silver status from the Dallas-Fort Worth Clean Cities Coalition for its contributions to reduce petroleum use and improve air quality .
The City ’ s fleet currently includes eight electric vehicles . Arlington installed electric vehicle charging stations for these fleet vehicles at strategic locations throughout the city thanks to state grants .

Arlington was named a Tree City USA community for the 23rd time in department history , while also earning the Tree City USA Growth Award ( 16th honor ), presented by the Arbor Day Foundation to participating Tree City USA communities that demonstrate higher levels of tree care and community engagement during the calendar year .
