City Manager’s Message
Dear Arlington Resident,

In Fiscal Year 2014, the City Council continued its focus on four priorities
initially selected for FY 2013: Support Quality Education, Build a Thriving
Community, Enhance Regional Mobility and Define an Identifiable Brand. These
priorities provided an opportunity to intensify our efforts to advance these
specific goals while maintaining our work to sustain our core services. In keeping
with this direction, the FY 2014 Budget made corporate investments where they
will advance the Council’s priorities with the greatest return on investment.

We have also maintained our commitment to transparency by making
all of our foundational documents used in creating our budget and business
plan available online. The working relationship that exists between our Mayor
and City Council and our workforce remains a key factor in our success in
