Looking Forward
A
rlington is a city with
productive and creative
employees, effective
management and a tradition of solid
policy and fiscal leadership. As we
move toward FY 2013, our vision for
the future, both near and long term, is
shaped by new priorities defined by our
City Council.
The priorities for FY 2013 are
designed to enhance the quality of
life for all who live, work and play
in Arlington. What you will see is a
commitment to priorities that are
dedicated to a better quality of life:
Build a Thriving Community, Support
Quality Education, Enhance Regional
Mobility, and Define an Identifiable
Brand.
As we strive to Build a Thriving
Community, strategic development
plans such as the New York Avenue
Corridor Development and the Division
Street Corridor Plan will take shape
in the coming months. New retail
development is part of the equation
throughout Arlington, and particularly
in Downtown, which continues to
flourish. Artist Garden Park at Viridian
will become a reality within the next
year, as well, offering a unique respite
for the families who will soon be moving
into the neighborhood.
The City understands the
importance of good schools. Our
