Arlington, Texas Community Profile
Arlington, Texas was established as a rural, farming community
along the railroad tracks in the central part of the Dallas-Fort Worth
Metroplex in 1884. Today, Arlington is the 50th largest city in the United
States. It is the seventh largest city in Texas and the third largest in north
Texas with more than 370,000 residents. Within a 25-mile radius of the
center of the city is a workforce of more than two million people.
