From The Office
We are pleased to report that the club made a profit again for the month of
July. That is seven months in a row and we have met our commitment for
funding all of dock, building, capital improvements, GYA
boat and accruals. Year-to-date net income has improved from last year and
is 75% ahead of budget.
The team has continued to keep cost of goods sold and on-going club
expenses in check and the rest of this year looks like smooth sailing with the
number of functions and parties scheduled for that time frame.
Since implementing the new menu and the Outback Steak night, utilization
of the dining room has increased significantly. Wednesday nights have
improved 62% since June of this year and Friday nights
are up 52%.
The main hallway bulletin board is wall papered with new applications and
everyday potential new members are inquiring about joining the club. People
are spreading the word that the club is the happening place to be.
It is still amazing to see all the kids at the club each week. Even after the
sailing classes have stopped, the kids continue to come and their parents are
enjoying the club.
New members can’t wait to start utilizing the club and are often opting to
get a trial membership so that they can keep their boat down here
immediately while their regular membership application is waiting a second
reading. One new member has also made a reservation for his entire family
to join him for brunch the first Sunday after his second read.
The club, in general, continues to move in a positive direction on all levels.
We have three class reunions and two weddings scheduled during the months
of September and October. The club continues to have something going on
just about every day and is quite busy for lunch during the week.
It doesn’t hurt to tell the staff members that you think they are doing a
great job for the club. Normally,
they just hear the complaints.
See you around the club!
