Commodore's Report
PHEW !
As I write this, I am watching images of Dorian pounding the
Bahamas. A few days ago, the Hurricane Committee and Flags met
to discuss how to deal with the impending storm here. Fortunately,
the follow up steps did not need to occur, but it was a good drill to
ensure that if we are threatened, we can respond appropriately.
Other happenings here include a great influx of member applications
(they overflowed the bulletin board space!). Dates for the Fall Fling
have been set for Oct 12 – 20. One change coming is to implement no
parking along the water side of the west point road. This will provide
better safety for the users of the playground, Brinckmann and beaches
as well as improved access for towing trailers to the launch ramp.
As a means of improving various aspects of the club that are of
concern to you, please participate in the annual survey. This can be
done online or by placing a filled paper copy in the box in the lobby.
Your input is useful in decisions on how we can make the club better
serve the needs of the members.
As for dropping things off, the comment repository has moved (the
box was needed for the surveys). You can now put your comments in
the slotted folder slot on the right end of the hallway bulletin board.
These do get read and addressed with the appropriate persons.
Be safe,
Craig
