By now, you should have received your 2017 FWYC Survey by mail and also an email from [email protected] with the link to the online survey, should you choose to complete it online. This year the club is offering a chance to win a $100 Club Credit if you complete the survey and turn it in or complete it online. Only one survey per member number, please! The surveys will be anonymous, member numbers or email addresses will be used only to enter names in the drawing. If you do not receive an email with the link, send an email to [email protected] and the link will be sent to you. If for some reason you do not receive a paper copy of the survey or if it’s misplaced before completing it, call or go by the office. Sandra has extra copies. The deadline for this year’s survey is Saturday, September 16! Be a part of the future of FWYC - FILL OUT THE SURVEY! In other happenings . . . The Welcoming Committee has a new helper. Director Jerry Vaughan has agreed to assist P/C Skip Harrington with the orientation and welcoming of new members to the club. The first event for the Welcoming Committee will be on Thursday, September 14. This will also be the first of our (hopefully) monthly Pasta Bar Nights. The Pasta Bar Night will begin at 5:30 pm, and at 6:36 pm (1836 for military folks), we will introduce new members. Since this will be the first New Member Introduction event in a long time, anyone who joined the club anytime this year, or even last year, please come to be introduced. ALL members are invited and are encouraged to attend. The Pasta Bar is $12 per person, $6 for kids and FREE for kids 4 and under. There will be a drawing for a $50 Club Credit for all attendees, new members and estab- lished members. This event will be the first 636 Event, so whenever you see 636 Event, you’ll know that it’s a new member welcoming event. So, come out and make our new members feel at home! This $50 incentive has been donated by a member as part of our welcoming program! The membership committee has been working with the Club Manager to provide drink special incentives for down times in the Lounge. The committee is also tracking food sales in the dining room and lounge to hopefully involve more member participation on slower nights. The Pasta Bar Night mentioned above is one of these ideas. FWYC will be hosting Chamber of Commerce members for the Nothing but Networking lunch on September 14. The chamber members have enjoyed coming to FWYC for the past two years and we look forward to showcasing our club for them again this year. Waterfront Director/Sailing Instructor Position - The Membership Committee and others at FWYC and ECSA continue to work on getting a position established at FWYC for a person to teach sailing and provide other much needed assistance in the area of sailing. This is idea keeps getting better all the time, with lots of people excited and enthused about it. STAY TUNED! 7 ~ Faye Black Membership Committee Chair
