THERE ARE A GOOD MANY CHANGES at FWYC and I know, change is not always a good
thing. However, the changes lately have been well received by the membership. Tom Garner
was confirmed as the new General Manager at the September Board of Officers meeting.
Tom has been a long-time member of FWYC. He resigned his membership to be our new
GM. Tom was the founder/owner of Tommy Mattonie's Coastal Café on Eglin Parkway. Tom
closed his restaurant and has brought his expertise in managing a restaurant, cost ac-
counting and customer service to FWYC.
Please welcome Tom Garner as our new GM.
Our Fall General Membership Meeting is on Sunday, October 7 at 4 PM. The primary pur-
pose of the October General Membership meeting is to finalize the slate of nominees for
Flag Officers and Board Members for 2019. The Nomination Committee will present the
preliminary slate and nominations will be taken from the floor. Your Flag Officers will also
give reports on the state of the Club. The VIP parking space will be auctioned off, too. There
will be an outstanding buffet following the meeting.
As many of you know, our Bookkeeper, Courtney Keen, is leaving to move back to Las Vegas.
Courtney is away for two weeks and will return around the middle of the month. She will be
at the club only part time to help train our new bookkeeper. FWYC will be honoring Court-
ney on Friday, October 26 in the Lounge. Hope you can join us as we wish Courtney farewell.
The 2018 Commodore’s Ball will be on New Year’s Eve.
Make plans to come out for a rocking good time!
October is a beautiful month all over the country, but especially at FWYC.
Come enjoy our little spot in paradise as the weather cools off.
