Letter Log October 2019 30° 25.60’N 86° 35.58’W From The Office October was an exceptionally busy month at the club. We had two weddings in addition to the Celebration of Life for past commodore, Tom Whitlock, which was well attended. Over 75 people had a great time Saturday night where the couple was married at the gazebo while dolphins were swimming in the background. It was really a nice evening and the club did quite well. The Zamora/Shoemake wedding was a huge success for the family and the club. Other activities scheduled for October included a birthday party for 50 people, a Meigs Volleyball banquet for 75 people, a dinner for the Okaloosa Florida Association of Women Attorney’s, the Formula Wave Class Championships and our Halloween party. The month of November is similar in that we have the High School Championships, the Brinkmann Regatta, MOA luncheon. Son’s of Italy dinner, Thanksgiving for ASG law firm and the Family Sailing Fun Race. We will also have the Orphan’s Potluck dinner on Thanksgiving. New member applications continue to roll in, the club has made a profit every month, transferred money into all the funds every month and everything continues to point in a positive direction. Around the club, we have the refurbished sign installed on the front wall of the club. The replacement of boards on the east bayside of dry storage started, some fresh paint on the gazebo repairs that were unfinished, sand filled in where the erosion occurred next to the Brinkman Pavilion, and the bushes at the gazebo have been pulled. We will finish the first section of the boardwalk soon and will also repair the A/C water problem at the downspout near the outdoor units in November. Please note that we will be running Friday night specials each week during the month of November and trying some new items out for the Tuesday Night food in the lounge. Come out and enjoy. If you see anything that needs repair, please let us know. 7
