Fort Walton Yacht Club Letter Log November 2018 30° 25.60’N 86° 35.58’W From t Office By General Manager Tom Garner Email: [email protected] THE CLUB NOW HAS a new full-time bookkeeper, Kristen Hartman and we would like you all to come by the office and introduce yourselves to her. She has an extensive accounting background and she is picking up on our system quickly. Welcome, Kristen! We have read all your suggestions on how to improve the club in the recent membership survey and have taken correc- tive action to improve the club, the club house, docks and grounds. We have hired Terry’s Landscaping to mow, edge, trim and take care of our lawns. We have hired a fulltime person to clean the clubhouse inside and out. Silvia Vicente has done an outstanding job keeping the Dining Room, Lounge, Castaway Room, Com- modore’s Room, the outside bathrooms and Junior Room clean. We have fixed the electrical problems that made our scat boat unusable. In addition, we repaired electrical problems with several pedestals on the docks, rewired the back patio, put covers on the A/C mechanical switches and fixed the timer on the lights out front. Many of these things go unnoticed by most of the members but ruin some other members experience at the club. We have had the boat ramp scraped and used the dirt to fill holes in the dry storage road- way. We have hired an entirely new kitchen staff and the numbers suggest that members are enjoying the food again. You may have noticed that the cooks all wear a chef’s jacket when outside of the kitchen area. We are scheduling customer service training for the entire staff to address your concerns about unprofessional behavior and attitudes. We are also requiring all employees of the club have the proper credentials to work in the food service industry and in the lounge. And finally, to address some repeated requests, Can you find your membership we now offer sweet tea as an option and we number hidden in this will be depleting our Pepsi inventory and issue of the returning to Coke products.
