I WISH TO THANK all who came out for the General Membership Meeting. We had
the first quorum in many years and were able to pass several proposals for changes in the
Constitution. Thank you!
P/C Dave Vaughan was the highest bidder for the VIP parking space. The proceeds go
into the Junior Donations Fund, which now has a separate account and a line item on our
monthly P & L Report. If you would like to bid on the VIP space, be sure to attend the Oc-
tober General Membership Meeting for the next auction.
The pirates are coming, the pirates
are coming! Yes, after almost 14 years,
the Krewe of Bowlegs will once again
depart from the FWYC docks for the
invasion of the city. This event will
offer a huge exposure of our club to
hundreds of community members, as
well as providing income as a private
party. The Membership Committee
is spearheading the volunteer effort
for the event and much like hosting
a regatta, we will need volunteers to
help with parking cars and boats, in
addition to directing the pirates to the
correct boat for their flotilla. Be here
on June 2.

WetaFest – Being tired after a huge regatta is a satisfying feeling, especially when there
were so many FWYC members who made the WetaFest/US Sailing Multihull Champion-
ship Regatta an outstanding event. Fleet Captain Shari Seaton did a superb job in orga-
nizing the event with volunteers for every task.
All your Flag Officers and over 40 member volunteers helped in various ways to ensure
that this event would be a success for sailors from far and near. Our staff outdid them-
selves each day providing great food for all involved. I am proud to be a part of these re-
nowned championship regattas as your Commodore and as a Race Committee volunteer.
Thanks to everyone who helped.
Have a wonderful month of May at our Club!
