PROJECTS ! YES , THAT IS DEFINITELY IN THE PLURAL . We have several diverse actions that need to get accomplished . These include ( but are probably not limited to ):
• Brinckmann Pavilion needs all flooring , seat surfaces and railing lumber replaced . Will be ordering materials & scheduling a self help day for this .
• Junior Room is experiencing slow ( years in the making ) water intrusion in the southeast corner . It will be necessary to replace several linear feet of wall material and hopefully discover where the point of water ingress is .
• Slip upgrades & reconfigurations will include the planned rework of the South Docks . We will also be reconfiguring an as yet undesignated area to safely dock a member ’ s large vessel .
• Gazebo is in need of general repairs & painting to improve its safety & appearance .
• Electrical power to the Point has been an ongoing problem . Eric is making arrangements with a contractor to find & fix the problem .
• 5 Year Plan . The committee , under Scott Mitchell , met and is looking into the needs for exterior painting of all buildings and resurfacing the front driveway / parking area .
Many of these projects can benefit from self-help to defer some costs . You will be hearing pleas for your talents as the projects move forward . Enjoy the Facility and bring any repair needs to my attention or Gerry Harvey for the docks .
