PROJECTS! YES, THAT IS DEFINITELY IN THE PLURAL. We have several diverse actions that need to get accomplished. These include( but are probably not limited to):
• Brinckmann Pavilion needs all flooring, seat surfaces and railing lumber replaced. Will be ordering materials & scheduling a self help day for this.
• Junior Room is experiencing slow( years in the making) water intrusion in the southeast corner. It will be necessary to replace several linear feet of wall material and hopefully discover where the point of water ingress is.
• Slip upgrades & reconfigurations will include the planned rework of the South Docks. We will also be reconfiguring an as yet undesignated area to safely dock a member’ s large vessel.
• Gazebo is in need of general repairs & painting to improve its safety & appearance.
• Electrical power to the Point has been an ongoing problem. Eric is making arrangements with a contractor to find & fix the problem.
• 5 Year Plan. The committee, under Scott Mitchell, met and is looking into the needs for exterior painting of all buildings and resurfacing the front driveway / parking area.
Many of these projects can benefit from self-help to defer some costs. You will be hearing pleas for your talents as the projects move forward. Enjoy the Facility and bring any repair needs to my attention or Gerry Harvey for the docks.
