Commodore's Report
June is here and the outdoor activities are heating up. Activities
have increased and the club is busy all week. In that regard, we
must be doing something right as a club:
Membership applications overflowed the temporary
bulletin board (a big thanks to the group of volunteers that
rebuilt the hallway board)
The Catalina 22 fleet inquired about our availability to
host (on an emergency basis) their national regatta this
summer as the venue in Oklahoma was unfit due to spring
weather damage. They have since rescheduled in OK at a later
date.
We received the 2019 Daily News award for Best Yacht
Club on Emerald Coast
Event bookings for our facility are almost maxed out
through the year.
Take pride in this and help when you can to keep this fine
establishment a desirable place to meet, eat, drink and sail.
For our Memorial Day Sundowner ceremony, we were fortunate
to have a group of middle school members of the Emerald Coast
Young Marines perform the duties of lowering the flag in full
honor for our ceremony. These young men and women did a
professional job and should be congratulated.
