When the Pool Committee contributes their $1400 in matching funds, the club is only $1700 short of reaching
our $100,000 goal. P/C David Vaughan said, “Let’s get this done." He volunteered an additional donation
and asked for more support from those present. Scott Moore and others pledged more contributions. By the
end of this week, we should have $100,000 in the bank and can move forward. Thanks again to all who have
contributed. The Board reviewed bids from two commercial pool contractors and selected Cox Pools as the
builder. Cox has offered to build the pool for $60,000, to include the required 14 pilings and a dewatering
system. The estimated cost for the entire project (excluding any furniture) is $93,300. The remaining $6700
will be used first as a contingency reserve and then, if the project comes in on budget, for purchasing pool
furniture. After that, any remaining funds will be used to repay member loans.
We know that the pool project has been very controversial. But now that it has been approved and funded, we
ask all members to try to maintain a positive attitude toward the pool and use it to attract new members and
build our membership.
