WELL, HERE IT IS FEBRUARY and we have had some things to get through in Jan-
uary. Our cold snap during the week of January 15 did a number on the exposed water
lines to the docks. When water was restored at the end of the week, several cracks be-
came very apparent. Izzy spent 2+ days chasing down the leaks, trimming back past the
cracks, coupling in repair pipe & rechecking for integrity. At least 17 broken areas required
repair. THANKS Izzy for doing the wet work in still cold weather.
Faye had mentioned that we would be reactivating the Landscape Committee. Cece
Stoldt has agreed to chair that committee this year. She is looking for volunteers (see
page 13).
Gerry Harvey has been busy trying to shift dock assignments around to ensure we have
the correct slip/boat pairings that will keep our fairways safe and accommodate boats in
properly sized slips.
One issue that needs to be addressed is an apparent leak in the overhead of the Junior
Room that is causing damage to the walls. This will be assessed and a plan forward es-
tablished to limit the damage.
If there are other facility related issues that you notice, please bring them to my attention.

Footloose
The word comes from the name
of the bottom of a sail – the
foot – which must be attached
to the boom. If it is not properly
attached it may become “foot-
loose” causing the vessel not to
sail properly.
