Fort Walton Yacht Club Letter Log February 2018 30° 25.60’N 86° 35.58’W Membership By Scott and Jenny Bailey, Email: [email protected] THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE is pleased to announce that we have hit the ground running in 2018. We held our first meeting on January 9th and it was well attended. We even had a new member, Ariel Lowerison, show up to offer her support. Thanks to an excellent suggestion from Director Wini Marquez, the FWYC will have a pres- ence at the Montessori 5K Run on February 3rd. A 10’ x 10’ area has been reserved for our Club. We will bring literature to share, colored chalk for the kids to play with, and even an Opti to display. for show and tell The event runs from 7 am to 12 pm, it should be a lot of fun, and a great way to let our community know about the FWYC. And the best part? IT COSTS THE CLUB NOTHING! A reminder for everyone if we may. It was brought to the attention of the Committee that some new mem- bers are not feeling “welcome” when they come to enjoy the Club. That is a shame since our Club prides itself on family, boating, and friends. If we see a new face let’s make an effort to embrace them and wel- come them to the Club. FWYC was great enough to get them in the door. Let’s do our best to make sure they want to stay! 100 Beal Parkway S.
