Page 17 Jibin’ with the Juniors The Food Drive conducted by the Juniors was a huge success. A few days before Thanksgiving, the Juniors delivered the items that the club members so generously donated. We had such a great response, that the items filled the entire back seat and floor! Thank you to all who contributed. The day after Christmas, David Beaudry left for sunny Miami and the Orange Bowl International Regatta. Over 600 boats competed in the regatta with David's Laser Radial class having over 120 boats and only one fleet! Strong winds and big chop made sailing challenging for everyone. David improved with each race and is looking forward to next year. Four Juniors are preparing for the 420 Midwinters in Jensen Beach, FL in February. Kelly Stukbauer, Stirling Naber, Ian Hunter and David Beaudry will be competing against some of the best U.S. and International college and high schools sailors. If you see these teams before or after their practices, make sure to wish them luck! The Junior Awards took place prior to the Installation Dinner on 18 January 2013. With such an active group of Juniors this year, there were several award winners. Out-going Fleet Captain John Farris presented the Junior Awards. Well done Juniors!
