Fort Walton Yacht Club Letter Log DECEMBER 2018 30° 25.60’N 86° 35.58’W From t Office By General Manager Tom Garner Email: [email protected] THE CHILI COOKOFF and Christmas Party is coming up on the 1st of December. We have big plans to make this year’s Eggnog party the best the club has hosted in a long time. There will new and exciting foods and displays and the new lounge team is coming up with some great recipes. This is going to be a great party and we need everyone to talk it up and get as many people here as possible. The new kitchen crew promises to impress. This event is free to all members, spouses and significant others. Members will be charged $20++, for your guests. Please make reservations with Sandra in the office so we can pre- pare the right amount of food. We have fourteen additional catering and private party events scheduled at the club during the month of December. We have hired a new grounds and maintenance person, Mike Shackleford. He has repaired several bad leaks on the docks, repaired the cabinet in the dining room, scraped the boat ramp and learned how to rebuild our pedestals on the docks. We will keep working to keep the board clear in the office. The grounds are looking nice and the club is looking much nicer, inside and out. The club is much cleaner and better looking especially with the new paint job. We will finish out the year with a Gala event for the Commodore’s Ball. Please look for the menu in this issue of the Letter Log. We now serve Coke products in the dining room and will have them available in the lounge in the very near future. In case you missed our Facebook post, we also now have a Bloody Mary bar for Sunday Brunch. Watch for more improvements in the future and let us know of if there is anything that we can do to make the club more enjoyable for all the members. Also, please be aware that persons under the age of 18 are allowed in the lounge until 8:00PM, when accompanied by a responsible adult, but no one under the age of 18 shall be allowed to sit at the bar. 20
