WELL, HERE WE ARE in chilly December!
After a week in Asheville & Thanksgiving in
Nashville, I can surely appreciate a climate
that lets us sail all year ‘round. That means
that projects can happen anytime of the year, also.
Witness the exterior painting of
the clubhouse. Jennifer Grant has
been leading a team in cleaning,
repairing and painting. The results
so far are striking. Thanks to the
long list of volunteers who have,
and continue to, help on this.
The Hoist Committee has studied
several alternatives to the location and type of hoist to
go forward with. After all this, it became evident that
the best approach, both functionally and fiscally, is to
redo (with some upgrade) what was already there. Now,
its just a matter of getting the contractors to respond
and offer quotes.
The damaged section of our main dock is still function-
ing with a jury rig repair made by some innovative club
members after Hurricane Michael. Again, it is the wait
on contractors that is delaying the fix.
As this is my last article in this role, I want to thank all
those who have pitched in during the year to assist in
various projects for the betterment of our club facility.
Even those that just report a problem are doing a service
by keeping things from getting worse. Thanks for all the
support and safe and Happy Holidays to all.
