A
Membership
s the name of our committee states, our reason to exist is to try and recruit new members as well as find ways
to improve or maintain the things that keep our current members happy. With our diverse membership,
this is sometimes a big order. Thanks to all those who took the time to fill out the Club Survey recently. The
results and comments will be compiled and used by the Flag Officers and Board to make decisions concerning
our club. After all, as great as they are, they don’t read minds and need to know your preferences. We will keep
you up on any changes that result from your suggestions.
Some great opportunities are coming up where you can showcase all
that our club offers to any prospective members. First is the Boat
Parade of Lights and Chili Cook-off on Thursday, December 15.
Even if you don’t plan on entering a boat, you can participate in
the spectacle of pretty boats and good food afterwards. A great way
to show your friends and acquaintances some of the fun we have.
Another event is the Eggnog Party, on Sunday, December
11. This would allow you to showcase the lovely facility and delicious fare offered by our kitchen staff. If
you know someone planning a big event you can
show them just what we can offer. Remember,
we do take non-member party reservations.
With the chill in the air in Florida, the arctic
air up north will bring in the annual migration of Snowbirds. When they show up in your
neighborhoods, clubs and churches, don’t forget
to invite them to the club. We had several of
our winter guests join as temporary members
last year and look forward to greeting them
and new members this season.
