Vice Commodore's Report
Thank you to Bob Fisher, for getting the Fish Station up and running!
If you use the fish station, please do not discard anything into the
water and always take the trash to the big green cans.
We have had a few hiccups with the hoist wiring, if any users find a
problem, please contact the office or me immediately.
Throughout the year, many by-law changes have been initiated to
update our Dock Rules. Our intention is that our rules provide for
adequate action concerning all situations that arise within our wet and
dry slip rentals. We have a goal to provide one final input on the
Dock Rules and any other by-law changes before the end of the year.
All interested parties are welcome to provide input concerning the
Dock Rules to me, Chris Washack, Dock Master or Jim Serpa, Dry
Storage Manager.
The benches and tables are in their final days on the gazebo. They
have lasted many years through many parties, regattas, and summer
sailing lessons, but their time has come to be replaced. New picnic
tables are on order and will be in place in August.
Our boat launch has been slowly deteriorating and measures to repair
the situation are beginning to come about. The ramp has, over the
years, become undermined by moving sand and shifting water. One
remedy for the situation is to not “power up” while on the ramp.
Powering up the engine, while sitting on the ramp only hastens the
situation and makes the ramp un-usable for other boaters. The
potential cost of such a project may be substantial. Information will
be forthcoming.
See you around the club,
Vice Commodore Shari Seaton
