Page 10 ECSA News A Message from our General Manager Hello club members! We are coming into what is traditionally our slowest month business-wise of the year. So far, this August is holding true to form. I have no private parties scheduled this month as of yet, but am hoping to get some interest. School starts back up towards the middle of this month, so remember to be aware of the school zones that will be back in effect. One thing scheduled this month is the Paddle for the Promise event. This was a good event last year and benefits a good cause. If you are a paddle boarder, come on out and get involved and have a good time doing it, and if you are not a paddle boarder, just come out and enjoy the day. ECSA finished up our summer lessons the middle of July with a total enrolment this summer of 144 students, including 9 adults. Thor (god of thunder, lightening, and storms) gave us a little trouble the last week, but overall we had a very good summer. We received a number of inquiries about both Junior and Adult Memberships in the Club. My instructor team were all home grown Junior members including: Mathew Anders, Colleen Parsons, Kelly Stukbauer, David Beaudry, and David Reiter. Linda Wright taught the adult class. Our Junior volunteers included George Hambleton, Jonathan Balent, Ian Hunter, Parker Dewrell, and Chase Hicks. I would like to add a big THANK YOU to the Fort Walton Yacht Club for hosting the summer lessons and to the FWYC membership for putting up with the inconveniences of the “swarm” for 4 weeks. George Goodall, [email protected] or 850-862-7276 Don’t forget to make your reservations for Friday night dinners. This helps with the planning and staffing for this day. I look forward to seeing you all at the club, and of course if there is anything I can do for you, feel free to email me or call.
