Page 17 WOW - Women on the Water Please join hostess Jackie Chapman and the Ladies of WOW in April. Dates to remember: Luncheon Thursday, April 3 11:30 a.m. - Social Time 12:00 p.m. - Lunch In the Dining Room WOW - Any Female Airman Project For more than half of our Airmen, this is their very first deployment and they will be under constant treat of attack. The conditions vary, but often the ladies don't have running water or electricity. There is usually a “chow hall,” but snacks are few! Many notes indicate that peanut butter, Ramen Noodles, Tuna in foil packs, nuts and anything that requires little preparation would be most welcome. It is getting hot now and they will be working in the sun. Female hygiene items are treasures to our Lady Warriors in Afghanistan. They frequently comment that it is especially nice to open a box releasing some feminine, sweet smell. At our March luncheon, we were surprised by a visit from a Lady Airman to whom we have been sending packages during her deployment from Eglin. You can imagine what a thrill that was!! “Egg-sellent” Evening Cocktail Party Thursday, April 17 5:30 p.m. In the Lounge Look What’s Happening in May! In spite of preparations to withdraw our troops, the Lt. Cassandra Andrea with Faye Black, Gethyn war atmosphere pervades. Giordano, and Barbara Please remember these MacPike at the March WOW brave young women who Luncheon are constantly in harm's way for us. Drop your donations at the office (see Any Airman donation box or give your monetary donation to Sandra). We will be happy to purchase items from donations to complete filling a box, and the cost of mailing has increased to $15.45 per box sent, so donations are certainly appreciated. Many, many thanks to you all for your unwavering support and for continuing to keep our Female Airmen in your prayers with your generous donations.
