Author, Keith B. Davis stopped by Fuzionz Magazine and TV to talk about his latest book. The father, husband and uncle has been writing all of his life, but has only been published for ten years. “Langston Hughes inspires me, but I write to stay sane in an insane world, said Keith.” When asked what his most challenging moment as an Author has been, Keith had this to say,

“Writing my new book “Confession of a Reformed Player” has to be my most challenging moment, because I had to pour out all of my most embarrassing stories that I didn’t want anyone to know about, but my sister encouraged me to write about something that I was good at. You see, back in my younger years, I loved going out on dates, but I couldn’t keep a girlfriend for a long period of time; three months at the most." Keith currently has three books out, titled, “Insight to One’s Soul”, “The Awakening” and “Confession of a Reformed Player,” his latest. We asked him to elaborate on “Confession of a Reform Player” and why he was inspired to write it. “I wanted to tell my story about a guy who is unlucky when it comes to love, but it ended up becoming more than that. It became mostly about being a thug verses a

gentleman. The dilemma: How can a man be the gentleman that his mama taught him to be, when the streets are teaching him something different? The thug life always seems to win, hands down,” said Keith. We asked Keith who has been his biggest supporter throughout his writing career. This is what the author had to say, “My biggest support I would have to say is me. From the start, I had to believe in myself. It’s funny how I can be a positive force in other people’s lives, but no one is positive in mine.” Keith is a volunteer for OFA of Pennsylvania, a political organization to help get out the vote and also to assist in signing people up for Obama Care. His advice to those who would like to pursue writing as a career would be to focus on you and don’t listen to the negative. Do your best. His words of inspiration are, “Find what makes you happy and leave those negative people alone, you will be better off. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it, because you can.”.
