An Interview With
Fuzionz Magazine and TV stepped into the world of Jacynda Marbury. The very talented entrepreneur is not only a team leader, of 14 years, at a financial service company, but she is also the Operations Manager for NuWu Entertainment where she also takes on the role as Manager for, Internationally known, Singer/Songwriter Ande.’ Check out our interview with Jacynda……
Q: Tell us a little about who Jacynda Marbury is, behind the scenes.
A: My name is Jacynda Marbury. I am the second of three daughters, a younger sister, an older sister, an aunt, a friend, an acquaintance and a co-worker. In addition to the aforementioned, I am a picky eater, a home-body, an introvert, a spectator of basketball and football (more on the collegiate level than professional), and a laid-back woman who enjoys giving back to her community through volunteer work. I was born in Detroit, Michigan but was living in the suburbs by the time we started elementary school. After the dissolution of my parent’s marriage, my mother relocated to Houston, Texas where my younger sister and I finished out our primary and secondary education. For college I attended The University of Texas at Austin, for two years, before scholastic challenges led to my decision to take time off
and regroup. In less than two years, I resumed my higher education by attending Huston-Tillotson College (now Huston-Tillotson University) where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Government, with honors.
Q: Who has been the most influential person in your life and why?
A: Wow! This is a difficult question to answer because there are a few people who have been influential my life but I choose my younger sister. Her influence comes from witnessing her make deliberate decisions and take deliberate actions in both her personal and professional life. She has always been a doer, a go getter, a pursuer of her passions, and a risk taker. I admire those qualities in her and they influence me constantly to do the same.
Q: What current position(s) do you hold?
A: The current position, as Team Leader, is with a financial services company where I have worked over 14 years. Four years ago, a college friend offered me a position within NuWu Entertainment (bka NuWu), her independent record label/production company, which is located in Dallas, Texas. I came onboard as Operations Manager where I took on the business operations of NuWu. In addition, NuWu's featured artist, ANDE, needed a manager thus I took on that role. As ANDE's manager, I was responsible for getting her music and name out to the world. Within a year, we had her singles airing on numerous independent radio stations (and a few terrestrial radio stations)
