Hope is the Cure, Education is the Key!

Would you be financially, emotionally, physically or spiritually prepared if you or your loved one were faced with one of the following condition (s):

Diagnosed with a chronic illness i.e. cancer, diabetes, heart disease, lupus

Death of a loved one/funeral expenses

Income reduction (unemployed, spouse loses job, disability)

High medical deduction and continuous out of pocket medical expenses

WAWELA Cancer Support is on a mission to reverse the financial strain many cancer patients experience during and after treatment while joining the race to end cancer once and for all.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women in the United States (2005-2009). Breast cancer deaths are going down the fastest among white women compared to women of other races and ethnicities. Black women have the highest death rates of all racial and ethnic groups and are 40% more likely to die of breast cancer than white women. *The reasons for this difference result from many factors including having more aggressive cancers and fewer social and economic resources. To improve this disparity, black women need more timely follow-up and improved access to high-quality treatment. (Information provided by National Cancer Institute.)

It is our belief that the risk of contracting chronic illness such as cancer can be reduced through proper education and reliable resources. There are millions of people around the world who do not know all of the specifics when facing a chronic illness and are not financially prepared when such crisis hits.

WAWELA is joining forces with resources and businesses that will assist in providing the fundamentals tools that better prepare individuals for such crisis.
