The Interview

Fuzionz: How long have you been writing?

Theresa: As a teenager I wrote a lot of poems, but professionally I have been writing about five years, now, with my first Christian Fiction book being published in December 2014.

Fuzionz: What inspired you to become a writer?

Theresa: Growing up in rural Jamaica, without electricity until I was about eleven-years-old, I used to read a lot. I would sit by

our little kerosene oil lamp and would immerse myself into the many characters that I was reading about. In most cases I would rewrite the stories in my head with different outcomes. I knew even then that I wanted to become a writer and this feeling only intensified as I grew older. It’s my desire to touch people’s lives with heartwarming and inspirational stories.

Fuzionz: How many books have you written? Tell us about your latest book and what inspired you to write it.

Theresa: I have written two books so far. My latest book “God Has Spoken” is actually the sequel to my first book, “Are You There, God?” In this book readers will find out what happens now that my main character, Dupree, finds the biological mother who abandoned her as a baby and learns the identity of her birth father and her biological brother. Will Dupree be able to forgive these people for their deception?

I also answer the question that many readers wanted to know by telling Tiny’s story. How does a former teenage runaway become a wealthy, sophisticated business executive?

I was inspired to write this book because there is always two sides to a story and oftentimes things are not as they seem. This story addresses something that I think many of us struggle with on a day to day basis; the power to forgive. The question was asked “Are You There, God?” and in this book God speaks (He answers the question). This is so applicable to our own lives. It’s very important when we ask God for something or to show up in a situation that we wait for His answer; whatever that is. The readers will also be reminded that it’s not over until God has spoken.
