Q: Tell me a little about yourself.

A: As an author, educator, and small business owner, I enjoy connecting with potential clients and collaborators. My current role is that of an educational support professional. Simply put, I’m often viewed as a tutor. But, what I offer is more than tutoring. Clients don’t arrive, homework in hand, talk through exercises, and leave. I build relationships with clients and families by understanding long-term and short-term goals, current and past performance, favorite and least favorite subjects, plus several other key aspects of the whole person. I am passionate about helping learners meet specific learning goals

by providing personalized learning

experiences.

Q: Who has been the biggest inspiration in your life?

A: My parents, Henry Jackson, Jr. and Karen Luckett Ransom of Yazoo City, MS, have always encouraged me to take learning seriously. They valued our – my sister, Kristin Jackson, and me – having access to quality educational opportunities. Somewhere along the way, I adopted this as part of my value system. My parents taught me the power of knowledge by pointing to the consequences of lack of knowledge on current and historical events. Living life on my own terms gave me the strength to step out on faith in building my business; however, my parents’ give me perspective. They always have.

Q: Tell us about Jackson Education and what motivation you to start the program.

A: I am driven to make a difference in this world we live in. What better way to impact future generations than by work-
