2015 STELLAR

AWARDS

The 2015 Stellar Music Awards started its 30th Anniversary of great Gospel Music with a surprise opening performance featuring Michelle Williams, with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, singing her single “Say Yes,’ which was nominated Best Music Video of the Year. The awards show was co-hosted by Rickey Smiley, Tamela Mann and David Mann. Erica Campbell received top honors with her win of six awards; Artist of the Year,

Urban/Inspirational Single or Performance of the Year to name a few. Winning three awards were Ricky Dillard and New G. Deitrick Haddon and The Walls Group tied with two trophies a piece. Haddon also won the Male Vocalist of the Year Award. He later brought the audience to its feet with a star-studded rendition of “My City” as he collaborated with Dorinda Clark-Cole, Clareta Haddon, J. Moss, 21:03, Kierra Sheard and Shelby Five. Making her first appearance at the Stellar Awards was Tasha Page-Lockhart, performing “Great Is Your Love” and

“Faith Come Alive,” with The Walls Group. Bishop Paul Morton was presented with the Allstate James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award.

Other great performances were given by Smokie Norful, Pastor Beverly Crawford and Jonathan McReynolds. The life of Andrae Crouch was celebrated with a performance from Yolanda Adams and Israel Houghton, singing “How Awesome Is Our God.” Don Jackson, the show’s Founder and Executive Producer incorporated a new tradition to the show, the inaugural Stellars Honors Club. The inaugural awards were presented to Pastor Shirley Ceasar, Byron Cage, Clifton Davis, Kirk Franklin, Vickie Winans, Dottie Peoples, Ricky Dillard, Vicki Mack Lataillade and Ambassador Dr. Bobby Jones.
