to the details, as well as to the overall theme and flow.

FUZIONZ: Give us one of your favorite quotes or scriptures and tell us why it is your favorite.

PHYLLIS: Isiah 40 v 30-31: Even youths grow tired and weary,

and young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the LORD he will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

This verse encompasses my very existence because it lets me know that even when I am tired and weary, I will never have to worry. If I fall, he will pick me up and carry me the rest of the way.

FUZIONZ: Do you have any upcoming book signings that you would like for our readers to know about?

PHYLLIS: I will be signing books at the Baltimore Book Festival on September 26th from 11:00 – 7:00

FUZIONZ: What advice would you give to those who are seeking to become authors?

PHYLLIS: Remember that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Writing a good book takes time. You may find yourself writing the same chapter over and over again. These are the moments when you may just want to give up. This is that critical period especially for a first time writer. You have to draw from your inner strength in order to develop that resiliency needed to make it to the finish line. It is essential to have an editor and writing coach who really gets you and your story. I had one for Quilt of Souls. When I couldn’t see the forest through the trees, she cleared the path for me and never failed to keep my voice strong and authentic. She picked up things I was blind to because I was too close to the project and had been working on it for so long. I could not have made my book sing without her. Having the support and a ‘keeper’ of the clarity and vision is invaluable
