THE RONY MACEAN story: RISING TO GREATER HEIGHTS

assaulting a neighbor of mine. I used to share a TV with my little brother Philip Macean. We used to always argue about sharing the TV; he loved watching cartoons. At one point, I got tired of arguing with him and I started hitting the streets, breaking day with my friends. My whole life change. The streets was like a grandfather to me, even though I had my father. The streets and the people in the streets and a small gang that me and my brother Phillip joined, made me feel like I was a part of a big family, where we supported each other and looked out for people in our community. It felt like we was lawless at times, but we had strong rules and ethics among ourselves. One day at 14 years old my father introduced me to my other half brothers and sisters their mother had a strong impact in my life. Her name is Marie Ricot, as well as my mother, she changed my life forever she give me the opportunity to go and live in Miami Florida with my sister Junon Jean Baptiste, Moira Charles Pierre and my brother Newton Germaine where we learned the rules of life. Life can be a real teacher life can change you for the good or for the worst our motto was is either we swim or sink. I had a best friend in Miami. When I first went to Miami, I called Rudy Delus and he taught me the ropes of Miami Florida because I was unfamiliar with this area. At 18, I had a kid in Miami Florida. Imissed out 11 years of his life due to life circumstances, but right now I'm back in his life. In between the time of me having a kid at that age, I moved back to New York. I ended up in an abusive relationship for 10 years which I just left two years ago. While in the relationship, I was stabbed, which caused a mild stroke, leaving my face messed up. The same person bit me and punched me in the face. We also have a daughter together, who is eight years old, at the present time. I thank God every day that I got out of that relationship. It help me to flourish and meet positive people and help me become who I am today. Yes, men get abused every day, but we are too scared to tell authorities or anyone so it would not belittle our masculinity. I had always wanted to have a surrogate mother, so I have a son who is three years old, now. I haven't seen him, nor my daughter in almost 2 years. I was in my son’s life from the beginning. At that point, I had a good life, a good career. I moved i into a new house with my family. I felt everything was looking up for all my expectations in life, especially after doing so many odd jobs in my life, until I finally got a career that I love. One of my many odd jobs in my life: working at Victoria's Secretnto a new house with my family. I felt everything was looking up for all my expectations in life, especially after doing so many odd jobs in my life: working at Victoria's Secret for seven years, as a dishwasher in a restaurant, in a factory in Long Island where 15 people had to fit in a van that held eleven passengers, to go to work every day, up until I finally got a career that I loved. One of my good friends, Canyon, helped me to get that job. His family was always good to us.

good friends, Canyon, helped me to get that job. His family was always good to us. I remember his mother used to let a group of us (me, Canyon, his brother Woody) stay in her house over periods of time where we could talk about our political views and vent about what's going on around us. We had big debates until 3-4:00 in the morning making a lot of noise and she still tolerated us. I was always thankful for that. I am a firm believer in it takes a village to raise a child.

One day my whole world came crashing down. Three people who were once close to me started doing vindictive things to jeopardize my life, because of jealousy and envy. They started doing wicked things to my family. At one point, I felt that they had taken over my life and my house. It had gotten to the point that these people started filing fictitious reports to ACS and Police Departments. I was fighting with these people every day. Once my mother went to work, they would fight me physically and mentally, to provoke me to do things to jeopardize my life and so I wouldn't see my kids again. I never understood their point of doing that. I'm still going through it. This situation affected my mother so much because she couldn’t believe the two main
