Fuzionz Magazine and TV is a community outreach magazine. We are compassionate and care about people in general, especially our youth, because they really don’t have a voice, per se. When we heard about a special program that gives them that voice, we wanted to get it out there so that others will know about it. We conducted an interview with China of The Real, who started the program, to find out more details of how this program works. In the process, we also interviewed Brooklynn Alexander, one of the youth who participates in the program. Here’s our Interview with China:
Fuzionz: Tell us about who China Doll is.
China: China Doll is a compassionate, forgiving, uplifting, motivated sprit trapped in a human body.
Fuzionz: You have your hands in many different projects, but let us talk about Ball-en. When was the program first started and why?
China: The "BALLEN" (Building A Life Lifting Educated Nation) program was started in 2007, as a program that I used to go into youth detention centers & group homes, motivating them to change their lives. That was the initial intent of the program. In 2013, I started another part to the BALLEN program…CALL IN & BALLEN. I started this part because after going into the centers all over America to speak to the youth, I came to the understanding that they needed a place to talk to each other in an open forum and they needed to know that youth in other cities are struggling with the same issues. I reached out to youth in some of the states I had done the BALLEN program in and asked them to be commentators for a once a month call and they were very happy to do so. Who can speak and know what a young person is dealing with better then another youth... so every 3rd Saturday of each month at 5pm EST / 4pm CST the CALL IN & BALLEN takes place and the commentators provide a topic to start the conversation. As of now, I have youth who represent Indianapolis, Indiana... Dallas, Texas... Chicago, Illinois and Hope Mills, North Carolina as commentators. I hope to have a youth from every state on the call representing their Sate.
