Q: Tell us about Plus Size Diva Magazine© and Plus Size Stud Magazine© and what motivated you to create these magazines?

A: I am a Reverend Bishop and my career of choice has always been Politics, nothing to do with Fashion or Glamour. In fact, not even for myself. In 2013, while in the process of running my own political campaign, I met two gentlemen who had their own magazine and helped me with publicity, so out of gratitude, when I was done, I decided to help them. Being a public servant, I found interest in doing this, so I decided I wanted to do a magazine for me. I just didn’t know with what grounds. I only knew I wanted to educate people on many things that people wouldn’t normally care about, unless you put it in a way that they can understand. So one day, on my way home, I saw a certain young lady in the street crying. Someone had been nasty to her in the Subway because of her weight, so as a Minister I could not keep walking and leave her there, that way and in that condition. I spoke to her, counseled her and I came home knowing exactly what I wanted to do. Being plus size myself, I could understand the hurt, pain and anguish some women go through, trying to shop, or with other people because of weight related issues.

That very same evening, I put on some make up and put my hair down. I took my very first selfie and using an app, I wrote a positive quote on it to encourage women just like me. The response was amazing, so I continued to put out more and more photos. I saw people were watching, so I put out a casting call and girls actually showed up. I was so amazed. They became the very first Plus Size Diva’s for the Magazine.

The very same gentlemen who helped me in my campaign, started doing my photo shoots so that I could move forward with the magazine and until I was on my feet.
