The Interview:
Q: Who is James Thomas Sr., the man behind the scenes?
A: James Thomas Sr. is an entrepreneur, an author, motivational leader (but people like to say a preacher); I just love teaching the word. I own a company, BEM Media Group. I am the founder and creator of Black Entertainment Magazine. With the media group, we sell information of motivational products and entertainment and we do that through the media, community, newspaper, online publications and through my motivational books. I am also the founder of The Red Letter Agency, which is a Public Relations firm; an entertainment/sports public relations firm where we represent a few celebrity clients. Omar Gooding is one of our clients. We have a few others: producers, directors, actors, actresses and we’re very close to signing our very first professional athletic basketball player. In addition to that, I am a minister. I teach biblical success principals at my church in Englewood, CA on Fridays and I also teach the men’s bible study on Monday nights. It sounds like a lot and sometimes you don’t realize all that you’re doing until you have to talk about it. I’m trying to figure out when I sleep. I’m single, I have two awesome children, who are young adults. My son is married and has three boys. My daughter is married and just had her first child. All three of my grandsons play football, but my grand [son James Thomas, III, whom we call Bo, at the age of nine, actually had a recruiter from Stanford to come out and see him play at one of his games. Unfortunately, he told the recruiter he does not want to go to Stanford, he wants to go to USC [laughing].
Q: Tell us a little about The Red Letter Agency.
A: It’s interesting how The Red Letter Agency came about because I had these print publications. As you are well aware, print media has really taken a beating because of the internet, so we really started hitting
