Fuzionz Magazine and TV had the privilege of conducting a very noteworthy interview with Kease, an independent artist from Pinebluff, Arkansas. The twenty-six year old is a father, a student, a son and currently resides in Dallas, Texas. He shared with us some of his experiences as an artist in the Rap/R&B world.

Fuzionz: Let’s talk about, you, the artist. When were you, first, inspired to become a singer/rapper? Were you motivated by anyone to do so?

Kease: At the age of thirteen I was asked if I wanted to partake in a studio session, and I did. They let me write & spit it all at once, so it was very encouraging. That experience left a great impression on me. Outside of that, my older sister Adrian definitely pushes me to rap, but Tupac has really been a motivator to me.

Fuzionz: What challenges have you faced in the industry?

Kease: Scams!!! Once, I got hit for twelve hundred bucks, thinking I was getting a chance to open up on tour for Schoolboy Q. All local musicians should be aware of these types of crooks. Besides that, battling sleep is a huge thing for me. I run over twenty sites. Constant networking is a very tedious task, but if persistent it pays off.

Fuzionz: Have you inspired anyone to get into the music industry?

Kease: No not yet; not that I know of [laughing]. In the days we're living in, inspiring individuals to do anything positive would be a great achievement in my book, though!

Introducing:

Hip-Hop/R&B Artist Kease

Fuzionz: How are things working out for you as an artist?

Kease: Great! I have a line of shows coming up, photo-shoots, videos, apparel, etc. Just working independently and building my contacts has had a huge effect on my reach, here in Texas.

Fuzionz: Do you write your own music? If so, how do you come up with your lyrics? Are they a part of your life story or inspired by someone else’s?

Kease: I've always written my own music. I started out reciting and reading poetry and it transitioned into making songs. My music is very self-reflective, so I feed off of what I've been through or sometimes what other people around me are being exposed to.

Fuzionz: Where do you see your career in the music industry, within the next two years?

Kease: Very busy and very relevant to the Southern hip hop community and beyond! Hey, you never know! Hopefully, getting to work and spreading my music out of the states!

Fuzionz: Who has been your biggest supporter?

Kease: My Mother shows the love of a hundred cheerleaders; cheering for me all at once!

Fuzionz: What advice would you give to those who are seeking to make a career within the music industry?

Kease: Re-evaluate your life and sanity before you make this a dream, because it's not one. Understand that it's a business and the faster you learn the mechanics, the faster you can enjoy your destiny.
