An interview with Shenita Moore "The Actress/Filmmaker talks about her most recent project"

In this interview with Shenita Moore, Fuzionz Magazine and TV found that Shenita wears many hats. She is not only a Wife and Mother, but an Actress, Producer, Filmmaker, Philanthropist, and Author. She talks about her STAND YOUR GROUND campaign. Here's our interview:

Fuzionz: What or who inspired you to get into film production?

Shenita: I was inspired to get into film production because of an internal love and desire of being on set; any set really. [laughing] I realized early on in my professional acting career that I had to consider creating my own projects, in order to consistently feed that desire. I can't always count on the studios to allow me to work on their sets. [laughing]

Fuzionz: What has been your biggest challenge?

Shenita: My biggest challenge has always been financing. I think many filmmakers can relate to this. We have the desire to create, but don't always have the deep pockets it usually requires. A lot of really good stories are never told because of this. It's disheartening.

Fuzionz: Tell me about your most recent project.

Shenita: Wow, I am so excited about my most recent project! It's called STAND YOUR GROUND and it was written by my good friend, Joel P.E. King. I am fortunate in that I not only have the opportunity to produce it, but I will also star in it. STAND YOUR GROUND tells the story of a mother, Patricia Walton, who tragically loses her young teenage son to a violent act.

We watch her cope with this sudden loss and see firsthand the impact it has on her other relationships. It is an extremely powerful, visceral story which deserves to be told.

Fuzionz: Tell me about the campaign that you’ve started to help in promoting your film.

Shenita: The STAND YOUR GROUND team launched a fundraising campaign on Indiegogo in April. Personally, this is my first online fundraising campaign, so I am extremely nervous about it. I've lost a lot of sleep since we launched it. [laughing] Our goal is to raise $15,000 by June 19th to cover pre- production costs, our 3 day shoot in August and post production; which includes submitting it to film festivals.

For more information or to make a donation, the link to the campaign is: igg.me/at/sygshort.

Fuzionz: Where do you foresee STAND YOUR GROUND taking your career?

Shenita: My goal from the very beginning with STAND YOUR GROUND is, first and foremost, tell this timely story. Secondary to that, my hope is that it will become a tool for everyone involved, not just for myself; a tool for all of us to use to advance our respective careers so that we can continue to make important films such as this one.
