Q: How long have you been writing?

A: Wow! I began writing as a young girl; I started off with poetry, well over 20 years ago.

Q: What was your inspiration to start writing?

A: My shyness and adversity inspired me to write. Writing gave me a voice and I expressed it with poetry.

Q: Tell us about your latest book and what the motivation behind writing it was.

A: Everyday life inspired me to write my book. It was a mixture of life’s lessons, stories that I’d heard, things that I’d seen, embellished for entertainment – but with a serious message. Also, riding back and forth on public transit always provided a story for me to write about. I’m an observer by nature and as a writer, I can sit and watch people doing everyday things and then my imagination just takes off.

Q: When your first book was published, what was that feeling like?

A: I fe lt like I had given birth again. I was happy, I was nervous, excited and humble all at the same time. I felt like a pot of Jambalaya – a whole lot of emotions thrown together to create a big warm pot of gratitude and love.

Q: Do you have any upcoming projects?

A: I’m currently finishing up my second novel called, Forbidden Addictions as well as an inspirational self-love book, called Back2MeKafe’

Q: Do you host a radio show? Elaborate a little on that.

A: Actually, I don’t have my own show – though I would one day love to, when things slow down a bit. I had a segment on Where Love Meets Sex and on Conversation with Ms. CondomLady on Tha Afterparty Radio. I believe I did that for about 3 years.

Q: What advice would you give those who are seeking writing as a career?

A: I would say, do it, because it’s your passion and purpose, not for money or fame. Do it for you and be the best at what you do. Most importantly do it with love. I would also like to add, do your research, ask questions and beware of those who prey upon you not knowing the business side of it all. Other than that, have fun and let me know when your book is coming out so I can show my support!

Q: Give us all some words of inspiration to take with us for the future.

A: Love Yourself Unconditionally. From your head down to your toes and everything else in between. Love the skin that you’re in, including your beauty marks and flaws, because it’s what makes you, uniquely you! Self-Love enhances your overall well-being, mind,
