We had the honor of also interviewing with Actress Phynjuar Thomas, mother of the late Michelle Thomas, who we knew as Myra on Family Matters. We asked her how it felt to be on the red carpet and her response was, “I can’t believe it because everyone’s not able. We’ve seen so many of them go and so many of them come; being the mother of the late Michelle Thomas. You never expect to bury your children. She was a major part of this. My kids were raised on this (Soul Train). In those days, it was ok to bring your kids to work. The business was the business. You can go to see footage with my daughter, Don Cornelius and Hal Jackson, when Michelle won her crown. I was there.
