those kinds of Sundae are a little bit expansive. The one that is cheap and exists in everywhere in Korea is Sundae stuffed with only noodles. Since it is very plain to just eat Sundae stuffed only with noodles, a lot of people eat it with “Dduk bok gi,” Korean traditional spicy rice cake. Especially, the spicy sauce of “Dduk bok gi” is mostly used for the sauce of the Sundae. As you can see, there are a lot of way to eat Sundae.
Making Sundae is very complicated process. After getting the pig’s intestine, it must be cleaned before the use. Since it is one of the digestive systems, it needs to be treated with salt so that the smells and other dirt would wash away. After the salt treatment, it is filled with ingredients such as tofu, vegetables, rice, and pork. The stuffed pig’s intestine is boiled in the water, but it needs to be poked with a sharp knife so that it would allow the expanded air to come out, preventing the ingredients inside from popping out. After the boiling, it just needs to be sliced into pieces to eat easier.
These days, there are a lot of derivatives of Sundae. There are stirred Sundae with vegetables and stew made out of Sundae. Those two foods are so popular that it came into their daily life. Whenever people drink Soju which is Korean traditional alcohol, they drink with stirred Sundae with vegetables like a relish. After people wake up next morning, they eat Sundae stew with rice. Their hangover stops as they eat it. Like this, Sundae is part of Korean people’s daily life. As traditional Mongolian food, Sundae, came into Korea, it has become one of the most popular foods in Korea. Sundae is now one of the Korean traditional food that cannot be exception of traditional food. Even though it sounds pretty gross, I would like to recommend this spectacular food to everyone who is reading this article.
