Craig Andrew Max IV
Born September 20, 1981- Died July 15, 2013
Craig Andrew Max was born and raised in Monticello, Illinois. While attending
Butler University in Indianapolis he began working for the Governor’s office as
his first foray into politics and public service. Having graduated from Vanderbilt
Law School, he moved to DC to practice trust and estate law. Craig was a member
of the Virginia, Maryland and DC Bars as well as the Bar of the Supreme Court of
the United States. Craig had many publications, awards and professional honors.
He also sat on the board of over a dozen regional, state, and national organizations
including hospitals, trade associations, charities, political organizations, and
foundations. Craig became a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, having been received into full communion earlier this year. He was also
a benefactor and friend of Nativity of Our Lord American Carpatho-Russian
Orthodox Church in Manassas. With his help, they were able to open the
St. Benedict Latin Academy in Manassas. Craig had a life long love affair with
gadgets, dachshunds, fast cars. Craig was interred not far from his birthplace
in Monticello, Illinois. A memorial fund was established in his name at the
Community Foundation of the Rappahanock.
The memorial observed tonight is offered by Michael J. Zurat,
in union with all his friends and family, in loving memory of Craig.
