Our Philosophy
The International Fuller Woman Expo and Empowerment Weekend is a body positive event. Body positive means this event encourages everyone to develop a positive mind-body relationship, no matter what your shape or size. A body positive approach empowers people to recognize and reject negative social perceptions and live free from the self-criticism that hinders us from living a more purposeful and rewarding life.
We believe in the Health At Every Size (HAES) model of healthcare, where everyone has the capacity to be healthy regardless of weight. We do not encourage weight loss just because you are plus sized. Instead, we encourage a lifestyle where health is the focus, rather than a lower number on the scale.
